Measurement workflow
Build a reliable project sketch
- Split irregular rooms into measured rectangles and record each area.
- Subtract only permanent exclusions that will not receive material.
- Identify pattern, direction, room transitions, cut complexity, breakage risk, and desired spare stock.
- Read usable coverage from the exact carton or roll and confirm lot and return constraints.

Worked example
A project has two rooms and a closet, with a fixed cabinet footprint that will not receive flooring.
Add the three included areas, subtract the confirmed cabinet footprint, then apply the chosen project allowance. Round the adjusted requirement up using the exact box coverage instead of rounding room-by-room.
