Measurement workflow
Build a reliable project sketch
- List every wall as length by height and every ceiling as length by width.
- Record doors, windows, and other true exclusions, but keep small cutoffs conservative.
- Separate wall and ceiling totals because sheet orientation and fastening rules can differ.
- Record sheet dimensions, layer count, framing spacing, joint lengths, and the selected system requirements.

Worked example
A room has four measured wall rectangles and one ceiling rectangle. Subtract confirmed door and window openings only from the affected wall total.
Run wall and ceiling estimates separately, then combine material lists only where the exact sheet, screw, tape, or compound specification is compatible.
- Keep the original measurements with the estimate.
- Record every selected allowance and product quantity.
- Recalculate when the layout or product changes.

A useful estimate is reproducible because its geometry, product data, and limitations remain visible.

- Fire, acoustic, moisture, impact, and multi-layer systems follow their tested assembly documents.
